The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a time focused on deepening your relationship with God. It is for those who yearn to follow Jesus in new ways, those who have that nagging feeling “there must be something mofe”. It is a full-time program that lasts from five to six months.
The students live in community, attend classes five days a week and participate in all the ministries of YWAM San Salvador. The program begins with learning, known as the theoretical phase, focused on who God is, who we are and what His purpose is for us on earth. The theoretical phase is followed by the practical phase where students and staff put into practice everything they have learned in the classroom through intercultural experiences and short-term trips to other countries.
WHAT IS THE DTS?
During the first three months of the school, we will be covering diferent topics in a classroom setting with teachers from different nations, cultures and backgrounds each week. During those three months, you will live in dorm-style housing on the YWAM San Salvador base and will be part of the daily activities around the base.
After spending those three months getting to know God more in the classroom and serving in different mercy ministries, we will go out and make God known in different cities and towns; serving churches, communities and families.

… what struck me most about the DTS was the simple and practical way a space was created where everything that was in my mind in relation to God came to life.
I would recommend it since it is a time in which you focus on finding the right way, the way God sees us, and how we were created with a unique and perfect purpose.

I would recommend the DTS to others because it is a special time where God works in our hearts in a unique way. It begins with a process of deep healing in our lives and invites us to dream His dreams and have His heart for the nations.
During my DTS I was shocked by every class I received. I really enjoyed my devotional times with God, praise times and feedback times with my leaders. I made new friends and saw God in different ways … I thank God for the truths He sowed in my heart during my time in the DTS.
