Phase 1
In Phase 1 we want to expose students to the loving and dynamic God of the Bible, equip students with the understanding of "how" to have a relationship with God and listen to His voice, establish what God's standards are in our modern times, live what God says. When we act on what God says, we are transformed.
Lecture
During the first half of your school, you will learn about who God is through classes, discipleship, and practical activities. The heart of this phase is for you to develop a true relationship with Jesus, teaching you to listen to His voice.
During the lecture phase you will have classes on the following topics:
- Intimate Friendship with God
- Praise
- Intercession
- Relationships
- Nature and Character of God
- Fatherly Heart of God
- Holy Spirit
- Repentance
- Idols
- Lordship of Christ
- Evangelism
- Purity
The obstacle course is a hands-on class for students. They will learn about teamwork, communication, respect, etc., while completing numerous obstacles with their team.
Students will be assigned to a small group where they will be discipled by a YWAM San Salvador missionary along with a small number of their classmates. Each individual will also have one-on-one discipleship.
Outreach
During the second half of your course, you will go to a different location. This is an opportunity for you to apply what you have learned during your theoretical phase. You will be confronted with different situations in which you can explore your potential through Christ.
The SST students have the opportunity to do evangelism in the place where they will be staying, whether in a park, on the street or going from house to house. All this in order to meet people and for them to be immersed in a lifestyle of evangelism.
Whether doing activities within a church by leading a general service or with the children, students have the opportunity to discover how their service brings change and blessing to the people around them.
A program is done with different churches focused on doing a shoe distribution with children where students have the opportunity to learn about their leadership gifts and overcome their fears in leading.
